What does Grey Gums Accomodation offer?

Grey Gums accomodation is a recently constructed, unique and charming owner-built house, hand crafted from recycled materials when possible and sandstone coloured Timbercrete bricks. Surrounded by tall gums, there is 12 acres for you to explore. The house features quality woodwork and fittings for you to enjoy. It is light and spacious and exudes serenity. 

There are 4 bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed and one has a king single also. There is a 3 way bathroom to serve numerous people at once. The master bedroom has a bay window and an ensuite bathroom attached.  There are 2 spacious showers and a double ended bath tub to add to the comfort of your stay. There is also a HOT outdoor shower and bath tub for the more adventurous.

The large, well-equipped, modern kitchen has a coffee making machine and there is an outdoor barbecue so you can enjoy the outdoors more. We now have the roof over the outdoor dining area to increase the enjoyment in all types of weather.

A selection of teas and coffee, milk and veggies in season from our garden are there for you to enjoy.

It is eco friendly as we make our own electricity and solar hot water, collect rain water, and take care of sewage on site, so you can minimize your environmental impact. Don't bring bottled water, our rain water tastes great and we treat it with a UV light to make sure it is safe for you to drink.

Relax in front of the cosy, wood fired heater to watch TV ----- or lose yourself in a good book. There is a variety of indoor games and lots of perfect holiday reading in our collection of books and magazines. 

Enjoy the outdoor firepit toasting marshmallows under the stars. We supply all the wood for the inside wood heater and the outside fire pit, so just relax and enjoy the ambience.

We know how hard it is to stay connected in Kangaroo Valley, espcially for Vodaphone users, so we offer free WiFi.

Kangaroos, wombats and a variety of native birds frequent the property, which backs on to a nature reserve overlooking the Kangaroo River and because of this, we cannot accept pets on the property. For those energetic souls, or those who love a casual stroll, this provides for some very scenic bush walking. 
It is a one hour return walk along the creek and through the forest to the river where you can swim or fish for bass, carp, catfish or eels. The road that goes by the front gate is an excellent late afternoon drive where you could spot over a hundred kangaroos and many wombats grazing in the paddocks.

A ping pong table and pool table are provided for your enjoyment. There is plenty of space for backyard ball games.

We have a hot and cold outdoor shower and bath tub for a romantic shower or bath under the stars amidst the bush scenery.

Early springtime is the best time to see echidnas as they are out wandering about more frequently in the mating season. Early summer is the best time to fish for bass in the lake with surface lures. Late summer is the best time to appreciate the bright orange color of the grey gum eucalyptus trees in the area. Winter is a good time to see wombats as they come out in the late afternoon or very early in the morning on the colder days.

We are keen to keep it rented and will do what we can to accommodate you. 

It is only 5 mins by car or a 20 minute stroll to Kangaroo Valley's boutique coffee shops and cafes, as well as interesting shops and galleries to browse. 

Kangaroo Valley is a cyclists' paradise. There are a number of excellent road and mountain bike trails to enjoy. 

Rent canoes to paddle the Kangaroo River or fish for carp and bass. 
Horse riding, swimming, tennis, golf, cooking lessons .......... 

Situated half way between the Highlands and the Coast, Kangaroo Valley is an excellent base for exploring these regions.
